A small bird flew into the Sync Tech Center in the middle of the night and has been hanging out.  A few minutes ago it slammed into a pane of glass and was stunned.  We've put him outside the window (3rd floor) on a ledge.  He's starting to recover, we think.  He is nicknamed "Scrappy".

About This Event

Developers: Get ready for a shot at the spotlight! Bring your laptops, phones, gadgets and development tools to the midVenturesLAUNCH 2010 Hackathon contest for a chance to bring your ideas to life during the 36-hour competition. After a round of demos and judging on Sunday afternoon, the winning team will get a demo table in the mVDEMO area at the conference and the chance present onstage at midVenturesLAUNCH on Tuesday, September 28th. This is a great opportunity to share the spotlight alongside the top startups chosen from the midVenturesCOMPETE entries. Winners will walk away with mad props and cool prizes.

Hackathon participants must be registered for the midVenturesLAUNCH event (use discount code mVLAUNCH2010_hackathon for a 20% Discount).

Prizes

- A demo table in the mVDEMO area at the midVenturesLAUNCH conference ($750 value)
- A chance to present your winning entry on stage during the conference (priceless)

Rules

  • Hackathon participants must be registered for the midVenturesLAUNCH event.
  • Entries may only win in one category.
  • Applications should not be under development prior to the contest kickoff. Pre-existing code libraries and artifacts are allowed, but the spirit of the event encourages participants to build what they can in 36 hours.
  • The development tools, frameworks and application focus are entirely up to the participants.
  • Participants are expected to bring all tools and software necessary to build their entry. Organizers will provide caffeine and power strips, but you might want to bring your own.
  • If a category has no entries, that category becomes 1st (or 2nd or 3rd) runner-up to the best overall.
  • Rules are subject to change at the discretion of the Hackathon coordinators.
